Custom Domain

Connect your own domain to your Zoer application for professional branding and better trust. This guide walks you through adding a custom domain, setting the required DNS records, and verifying the connection.

Recommended: Use a subdomain such as app.yourdomain.com for maximum compatibility across DNS providers.

Where to manage domains

Go to Control Center → Domains to add and manage custom domains for your app.

Step 1 — Enter the domain to connect

Click "Add Custom Domain" and type the domain or subdomain you want to connect (e.g., app.yourdomain.com). Then click Continue.

Step 2 — Add DNS records at your domain provider

Log in to your DNS provider (e.g., Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap) and add the records shown in Zoer.

Required:

  • CNAME record
    • Host/Name: the subdomain you entered (example: a for a.yourdomain.com, or app for app.yourdomain.com)
    • Value/Target: the Zoer-provided appXXXXXXXX.online.zoer.ai address shown in the dialog
    • TTL: Auto or 5–30 minutes

Optional but recommended:

  • TXT record for ownership verification
    • Host/Name: _zoer-verify
    • Value: the zoer_verify_... token shown in the dialog

After creating the records, return to Zoer and click "I've added the records".

Verification, SSL and propagation

  • Zoer automatically issues and renews HTTPS certificates once the DNS is correct.
  • DNS changes may take a few minutes to propagate; in some cases it can take up to 24–48 hours depending on your DNS provider and TTL.
  • You will see the domain status change to "Connected" once verification succeeds.

Tips and common scenarios

  • Using Cloudflare: temporarily set the CNAME to "DNS only" (gray cloud) until the domain shows Connected. You can turn the proxy back on later if desired.
  • Root domains (apex): many providers do not allow a CNAME at the root. We recommend using a subdomain (e.g., www or app). If your provider supports ALIAS/ANAME/flattening at the root, you can point the root using those features.
  • Conflicts: remove or change any existing A/AAAA/CNAME records that conflict with the same host name you are trying to connect.
  • Redirects: if you connect www.yourdomain.com, consider setting a redirect from the root to www (or vice‑versa) at your DNS or registrar.

Troubleshooting

  • Still "Not connected" after 1 hour: check that your CNAME exactly matches the target provided by Zoer and there are no conflicting records.
  • SSL pending: wait a few more minutes after DNS propagates; certificates are issued automatically.
  • Provider caches: clear DNS cache locally or test with nslookup/dig from another network to confirm propagation.
